Course Details: Designed by Irish Fire Safety Engineers, this course meets the training needs of staff responsible for Fire Safety within the organisation.

Aim: To provide training to staff who intend to fulfil the role of Fire Warden within the workplace as described by The HSA.

Training Objectives: On completion of the programme participants will be able to:

  • Assist the set up, monitor and audit a fire safety programme
  • Describe their legal obligations under current legislation
  • Describe their fire responsibilities
  • Describe the science of fire
  • Describe how fire starts and spreads
  • Identify fire hazards and understand how these are controlled
  • Keep all required records

  • Theory
  • Fire safety legislation
  • Management responsibilities
  • Fire safety programme
  • Fire and evacuation plans
  • Hazards – identification & control
  • Fire protection installations
  • First Aid Fire Fighting
  • Audit and maintenance procedures

Duration: 1 Day

Certification:
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Refresher course is recommended every 12 months.

Included for each participant is a fire warden hand book.
