Basic First Aid Course

Aim: To provide training to staff who intend to fulfil a position of First Aider within the workplace.

Training Objectives:On completion of this course participants will be able to:

• Deal with First Aid emergencies
• Provide necessary first aid within the workplace
• Understand and demonstrate essential life saving skills

• Head injuries
• Dressings and bandages
• Shock – fainting
• Unconsciousness
• Recovery position
• Asphyxia and its causes
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation practical
• Treating foreign bodies, chemical splashes
• Burns and scalds
• Blood and the circulation System
• Fractures, Sprains, strains and dislocations

Course Duration:1 day

Certification:All successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for a period of 2 years.
